EPOS Reaches Next Milestone on its Sustainability Journey

EPOS, the global audio brand, reaffirms its commitment to helping ensure healthy lives and well-being for all, via its mission to unleash human potential through technology. In line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development set out by the United Nations, EPOS is actively advancing initiatives that provide audio and visual solutions that empower seamless communication and prevent stress and listening fatigue.

EPOS is part of the Demant group, a world-leading hearing healthcare and technology group that builds on a heritage of care, health, and innovation since 1904.

Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

As part of Demant’s ambitions to reach net zero emissions by 2050, EPOS implemented four key projects throughout 2023 to accelerate its reduction of scope 3 emissions. Within these efforts EPOS is conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) on a selection of its product portfolio: leveraging external consultants and bolstering its in-house sustainability expertise to measure, verify, analyze, and reduce its products’ carbon footprint.

Building on its rich heritage and decades of psychoacoustic research, EPOS has led world-leading research on how the brain perceives sound. Many don’t consider the harm that can be caused when struggling to process digital audio in noisy environments – not only to cognitive resources, but also to a person’s ability to listen and concentrate effectively, as well as to their overall well-being. Recognizing that all human beings are entitled to a healthy and productive life, EPOS developed EPOS BrainAdapt™.

Consisting of a pioneering group of technologies that work together to support the brains natural way of processing sound, EPOS BrainAdapt™ minimizes effort spent on listening and understanding elements of a conversation. By improving concentration and communication its solutions help prevent stress and listening fatigue that can be caused by imperfect audio experiences.

Rewarded with EcoVadis Bronze Rating

As a result of an assessment on 21 key criteria, including Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement, in 2023 EPOS was awarded a bronze ranking by EcoVadis, a trusted, global leader for business sustainability ratings.

Jeppe Dalberg-Larsen, President at EPOS says, “Our bronze rating from EcoVadis represents, validates, and demonstrates our commitment to sustainability. We are excited to celebrate this milestone and have already built out tangible steps to ensure we progress towards our 2050 targets”.

Looking to accelerate its sustainability journey in 2024 and beyond, EPOS has begun implementing its long-term sustainability roadmap. This includes a renewed focus on reducing CO2 emissions from packaging, securing more environmentally sustainable sourcing and product design, and obtaining relevant certifications.
