Our story

In 2018, Demant A/S and Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG announced the end of the joint venture, Sennheiser Communications, and that the business segments would evolve in new set-ups. The business segments Enterprise Solutions and Gaming headsets will evolve as a new independent company, EPOS, under Demant.

EPOS builds on its duality of past and future, pairing founded knowledge with forward-thinking technology to take the story of excellent sound experience to the next level. EPOS caters to the Enterprise Solutions, Gaming as well as to the Air Traffic Control segment, with a vast range of products with a contemporary design approach.

  • 2021

    Introduction of the first Gaming closed Acoustic Wireless Earbuds with Dongle - GTW 270 Hybrid – Nintendo Switch compatible

  • 2020

    November 30th, Sennheiser Communications A/S ceased to exist..

    All activities, including agreements and employees, relating to the enterprise and gaming business segments were transferred and assigned to EPOS Group A/S

  • 2019 EPOS

    EPOS Group A/S is established, and the new company name is announced.

  • 2019

    The first wireless gaming headsets are launched with up to 100 hours of battery life with the GSP 370 and 670.

  • 2018

    Demant A/S and Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG decided to end their joint venture and let the business segments evolve in different set-ups from 2020.

  • 2016

    Launch of the legendary MB 660 enterprise headset, which took sound quality, comfort, design, and noise cancellation to a new level.

    The channel management of the Air Traffic Control / Command

    The channel management of the Air Traffic Control / Command Control Communication segment was taken over by Sennheiser Communication after Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG decided to discontinue it. This was due to the complementarity between the ATC/C3 products and the CC&O portfolio.

  • 2014

    Sennheiser Communications entered the meeting space realm by launching the first speakerphones within the SP10 and SP 20 series.

  • 2013

    Launch of the Game One and Game Zero series of high-end HiFi gaming headset. This was a new benchmark for gaming headsets in a market dominated by low-cost alternatives.

  • 2014-2010

    The market trend within unified communication changed. Lync and Skype became standard office software for online meetings and headsets were now used by all employees (not just call centers).

  • 2010

    Dolby Virtual Surround Sound for PC gamers

    Launch of the PC 163D and the PC 333D. Both offering Dolby Virtual Surround Sound for PC gamers. Furthermore, the PC 333D offered a very innovative DJ hinge for LAN gamers who needed one ear free, and one ear in the Game

  • 2010

    Launch of our first head worn and successful DECT headset. It was the first full range (all wearing styles) office & call center headset based on the wireless technology DECT.

  • 2008

    PC 350 was launched – taking our first step into high-end gaming headsets. The headset had a lift to mute microphone and an integrated volume control. Both new features to the market.

  • 2007

    First bluetooth office headset

    Introduction of the first wireless (Bluetooth) office headset which could connect to Mobile phones and desk phones (BW900 series).

  • 2003

    The first enterprise launch as a result of the joint venture between Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG and Demant A/S.

  • 2003

    The first dedicated gaming headset went into the global market for gamers.

    Danacom A/S and Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co.

  • 1999 Danacom

    Oticon (part of the Demant Group) bought DanaCom A/S, a small head-set manufacturer with 30 employees located in Solrød, Denmark, and started own production of wired head-sets
