The best all-round gaming headset
As an analogue wired headset, it has wide compatibility, and is supplied with cables for use with devices that use 3.5 mm 4-pole headset jacks (e.g. consoles, phones) or 2 x 3.5 mm 3-pole jacks for separate mic input and audio output (e.g. many PCs). Plug it in and play – no batteries, no latency worries, controlled by a simple volume wheel. It’s a high quality, reliable headset manufactured from premium materials and components that’s designed to last.
The H3 is an evolution of the EPOS | SENNHEISER GSP 300 Series. Whilst the GSP 300 Series remains part of our core product offering, the H3 heralds the start of a new generation of EPOS headsets, incorporating both our own engineering advances and gamer feedback. For example, the cable is now detachable from the headset for easy replacement, and the headband redesign also enabled a lighter pressure on the head, both in response to feedback from gamers.
EPOS is an audio and video solution company developing and selling devices for business and gaming. The Danish founded company delivers high-end audio and video solutions with design, technology and performance as their paramount parameters.
EPOS was established to let the business segments of the joint venture – known as Sennheiser Communications – between Sennheiser Electronic GmbH & Co. KG and Demant A/S evolve in different set-ups. Alongside the introduction of a new own-branded portfolio, EPOS continues to sell the current Sennheiser Communications portfolio co-branded as EPOS | SENNHEISER.
EPOS is part of the Demant Group – a world-leading audio and hearing technology group. As such, it builds on more than 115 years of experience of working with innovation and sound. How to Connect H3
In order to connect your H3 headset to your PC, use the GSA 30 PC Cable.
If you are using your H3 headset with a console or other platform with 3.5 mm jack input, use the GSA 30 Console Cable.
You will receive both cables with the H3 headset.
High Quality Speakers and Mic Systems – Designed for Gaming
The H3 is a closed acoustic headset with a custom speaker system that is specifically tuned for gamers. It delivers excellent low frequency performance for that feeling of immediacy in the bass – but without compromising or masking a tight and accurate midrange that is essential for hearing every nuanced audio cue. Its crystal-clear high frequencies assist positional audio perception when connected to an analogue sound source that delivers surround sound using binaural techniques – such as the Xbox Windows Sonic system or Sony 3D Tempest Engine for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Simply plug the H3 into the audio output on the console controller and enjoy surround sound in those games which support it. PC users can enjoy high quality EPOS Surround Sound over their H3 headset when using 3D-audio capable sound cards such as the EPOS GSX series.
The microphone system is a crucial component in any gaming headset and EPOS uses high quality analogue mics because they outperform digital components in our tests. For example, while the GSP 300 mic was designed with the unidirectional pick-up pattern ideal for its use case scenario, the mic in the H3 is an evolution of the units we used in our very first gaming headsets over ten years ago. This studio-quality, noise cancelling microphone is engineered to maximise clarity for natural sounding in-game communication and is mounted on a longer, slightly slimmer boom arm than the GSP 300 for an optimal position for voice pick up. As before, lifting the boom arm immediately mutes the mic.
Comfort Without Compromising Audio Performance
1. Intuitive volume control
2. Built-in stainless steel slider in the headband
3. Dent in the headband
4. Leatherette headband that can be easily cleaned
5. Microphone with lift-to-mute boom arm
6. Ear cups shaped like ears to avoid putting pressure on the ears
7. Angled speakers to avoid putting pressure on the ears
The EPOS team spent a long time working on the fit and feel of the H3 headset to make it as comfortable for the wearer over long gaming sessions as possible, but without compromising on the overall audio performance. For example, the earcups are shaped to fit around the ear without putting pressure on them, and the speakers are angled inside the enclosure in such as way as to avoid contact with the ear. At the same time, the earcups also deliver an excellent acoustic seal for passive noise cancellation and accurate, reliable speaker performance throughout the frequency range.
The earcups are attached to the rest of the headset by our specially designed dual axis hinge system originally found in our high-end headsets. This improves the comfort and seal for any head or face shape. The earpads themselves are made from memory foam covered in high quality leatherette, with a softer material on the surface touching the skin for the long-term comfort of the wearer. They can also be easily replaced. The brand-new headband has been redesigned for both aesthetic and comfort reasons. The stainless-steel slider has length indicators and click stops for a perfect fit each session, and the leatherette band, supported by memory foam, is easily cleaned. If you look closely, you’ll also see a slight indent in the headband, which helps ease the pressure on the sensitive crown of the head.
Designed for Excellence, Built to Last
The H3 gaming headset has been designed by engineers who are also gamers, with an obsessive attention to detail and commitment to quality. Every single development build is exhaustively tested, and this iterative process ensures the final product is as good as it can be. On this journey, the H3 headset has been to hell and back. Its boom arm has been rotated and bent relentlessly. It has been dropped repeatedly and subjected to temperature extremes that would see any wearer spending time in hospital. This is all intended to test its resilience in the face of a lifetime of gaming environments and gamer mishaps.
And in the event the earcups or cables suffer wear and tear, they can easily be replaced with spare parts by the owner themselves.
As well as selecting materials for their strength, flexibility and durability, the EPOS team spent considerable time ensuring the look and feel of the headset reflected its premium credentials. The two color schemes – Onyx Black and Ghost White – support the overall feeling of quality with excellent aesthetics and sleek appearance.
As part of its commitment to quality, EPOS tests every headset for speaker performance before it leaves the factory. In this way, the company ensures every product that reaches the gamer lives up to the exacting standards of the EPOS engineering team that designed it.
