EHS programming mode

Firmware versions 131 and 133 for DECT series headsets introduced the ability to change the EHS settings in order to ensure higher stability and better connections with specific telephone models.

The different modes

There are currently three different programmable EHS modes.

Setting 1 is the standard setting for most EHS solutions.

Setting 2 (Siemens II) is for the following models:

  • OptiPoint 410 Standard/Advance
  • OptiPoint 420 Standard/Advance
  • OptiPoint 500 Basic/Standard
  • OptiPoint 600

Setting 3 (Panasonic) is for Panasonic phones with EHS ports.

How to change the EHS mode

To change these settings, programming mode on the base station must be activated. To do this, move all the DIP switches into the down position. Please note that the images below demonstrate this procedure on a DW base station. On an SD base station, the DIP switches and reset button are located on the underside.

Once all the DIP switches have been moved into the down position, pressing the reset button will cycle through the different setting options. The various settings can be recognised by the different flashing LEDs, as can be seen on the graphic below.

Once the correct setting has been chosen, return DIP switches 2 through 6 back to the up position. The base station will then undergo a reset and upon completion will now be programmed to the new EHS mode.
