1 INTRODUCTION

At EPOS Group A/S we respect and protect your privacy. We are dedicated to being as transparent as possible regarding the use of data in the App.

The App has been created to provide you with the possibility of (i) controlling and personalizing your headset experience, and (ii) updating your headsets firmware directly from your mobile device.

This privacy notice explains how we collect and use your data. In this Privacy Notice, “we”, “us” and “our” means EPOS Group A/S.

By installing and using the App, you accept the terms of this privacy notice.

3 CONNECTING THE APP TO YOUR EPOS HEADSET

The following information is required to establish a connection between the App and your EPOS headset: The headset’s Bluetooth address (for Android), access rights to location information of the device on which the App is running (for Android), the headset’s BLE UUID (for iOS). This data is required for the operation of the headset via the App and is not transferred to us or companies commissioned by us and is not processed.

The use of the App on Android devices mandatorily requires the activation of location services to enable the App to connect with your EPOS headset. This is because the connection to your EPOS headset is established using Bluetooth Low Energy Scan (BLE Scan) technology, for which Android requires access to the location services of your device. If you do not enable location services on your Android device, the App cannot connect to your EPOS headset.

4 COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF DATA

We collect usage data via Microsoft Visual Studio App Center for analytics and for crash reporting to provide you with a continuously improved App. The data is collected and processed in an anonymous form only to determine statistical characteristics regarding the use of the App, the distribution of the App and the identification of causes of errors, as well as the provision and maintenance of the App and the improvement of the functions of the App. The following information is collected and processed:

  • Frequency, type and duration of use of the App
  • Settings made on the device such as equalizer, active noise cancellation mode or other device specific settings
  • Type of headset to which the App is connected
  • Type of end device on which the App is running
  • Operating system, version number and global position (Not the exact location. Only a country specifier)
  • Error reports in case of a crash

We only collect and process data, which is relevant and sufficient for the purposes defined above.

5 HOW WE SHARE YOUR DATA

We will not pass, rent, sell, or otherwise share or disclose your data with any third parties, except as described herein.

We may disclose your data to selected third parties such as law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, and our professional advisors if we are under a duty to do so to comply with any legal obligation.

6 DATA PROCESSORS

We may also share your data with service providers who perform services and functions related to the App on our behalf. Such service providers will not gain any right to process your data for any other purposes but to help us deliver the App to you.

We use Microsoft’s Visual Studio App Center operated by Microsoft Corporation as our data processor.

7 CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY NOTICE

We may update this notice from time to time. The privacy notice in force at any time are available through the App. If you continue to use the App, you are deemed to have accepted such changes.

8 DANISH LAW

Our App is based in Denmark. The information we collect is governed by applicable Danish law. We operate the App in Denmark, and depending on your country of residence, the submission of data via the App may involve transfer of data to Denmark, or where our servers are located.
