IMPACT DW - Link LED is red
During normal operation, the link LED on the base station will be unlit when the headset is not in use, and will light up blue when the headset is on and a connection between the two has been established.
If the headset is on and the link LED is red, this means that the headset and base station have failed to establish a wireless signal.
This normally means that the unit needs to be reset.
This is normally caused by the internal electronics of the device having become 'confused', usually due to a power surge.
To perform a reset, ensure that the headset is off and return it to the base station, disconnect the unit from all power sources (mains supply and USB, if necessary) and wait fifteen (15) seconds before reconnecting the power and testing the headset.
This should 'jolt' the system and re-establish the link between headset and base station - therefore it is important to remember to have the headset in the base station whilst performing the reset.
This process may not work the first time. If unsuccessful, try again. If after five attempts the reset has still not been successful, it may be necessary to leave the base station disconnected for an extended period of time (an hour is normally sufficient). After waiting an hour, restore power and test the unit.
